Memorial Day - Summer Start - Travel Start

Must Have Travel Gadgets for Summer

Memorial Day (May 30,2016) is the official kickoff for the summertime travel season. So that mean that the airports will be hopping. Expect the roads to be packed with people making the most out of their four-day weekend as well. I have put together a graph of the worst travel days during the holidays here: Top Holidays for Travel & Their Rating. Weekends are the busiest travel days during the summer and holidays.

Video Camera
Videos are the new photos. Maybe not. But videos are a lot more prevalent and easier to shoot then ever before.  With a portable video camera you can grab videos throughout your travel and enhance your post-trip memories. Cameras, such as the GoPro line, are great for taking videos above water as well as in the water for some action shots. You would want one with great stability and resolution as your subjects and you are unlikely to stand still.

Camera
Summer time is fun time. And fun time needs to be captured. A good camera can grab a shot, a great camera can take a picture of the moment worthy of all your social media. I like cameras that are able to multi-task and take great shots. This is especially important for travel so you do not have to drag multiple cameras and all of their accessories. That is why for our trips, I like the waterproof, and shockproof Olympus Tough Digital Camera. It can take the bumps and shakes of a trip and still take great shots.

mophie Powerstation (4000mAh)
Chargers
These are essential for any summer travel. All of the gadgets and entertainment devices depend on chargers for their life line. Smartphones and tablets need a power pack, such as the Anker PowerCore, to keep them going. Photo and video cameras need their batteries charged or powered up via a USB or DC source. DVD players, radios, and so on also need batteries or a way to plug in their plugs. So travel DC adapter wall charger units are also a great idea to pack.

Waterproof Case
Summer activities large percent of the time include water or other liquids. A waterproof case for your devices would keep them safe and you sane and not missing out on things because of water damage during your vacation trip.

Wi-Fi
It would not be a kick off of summer without official postings of displaying and saluting the flag, barbecues, hanging out at the beach on Instagram or Facebook. To make sure you can post your pictures quickly and without inquiring data costs, you would need access to a good Wi-Fi source.
To make sure your information is safe use private virtual network while traveling, such as Private Internet Access, that will encrypt all of your internet traffic and protect your identity.

Reading Material
In the world of reading in 20th century, no gadget can beat the versatility, storage, and accessibility of Amazon Kindle. Its a great e-book to take just about anywhere with you. It is easy to load up with books and magazines. The device is quick to turn on, light, has easy to see screen, easy to flip through pages. And most importantly it substitutes multiple books and/or magazine in one compact package.

Bluetooth Speakers
On the plane and train you likely would want to keep the music to yourself and plug in noise-cancelling headphones. Though summer time is also a more social time. Hanging out outdoors is more likely as are barbecues, pool parties, and beach outings. During these events you can share your tunes with the group with a set of great sounding yet portable wireless speakers.

Must Have Travel Gadgets for Summer

Must Have Travel Gadgets for Summer

Memorial Day weekend marks unofficial start to summer. Kick off your summer well, with these cool gadgets:

WiFi Router
Tired of looking for a secure Wi-Fi network during your travels? A Wi-Fi hotspot, such as TP-LINK Wireless Travel Router, creates a wireless network from your standard hotel Ethernet connection, giving your multiple wireless devices a stable network connection.

Underwater Camera

Staying a float usually takes two hands and a bit of movement. Both make it harder to take clear underwater shots. This camera and mask combo lets you shoot with just one hand. And since it is already on your face and has your view whenever you turn, you don't have to find the object in the viewfinder. Just look and click.

An Action Camera
For taking videos above water as well as some in the water activity shots, and action cam is a great gadget. You would want one with great stability and resolution as the objects would be moving quite a bit as well as the videographer.

Travel-Proof Compact Camera

This camera can go under water over 30 feet. Shockproof when dropped from around 5 feet. Has a 5x image stabilized zoom, which makes it great for taking shots on the move.

Open up multiple plugin sockets with this useful travel accessory. Instead of just charging one device via a wall outlet, you would be able to charge 2 or 3 at once. Keep your important gadgets juiced up and ready to go.

Water Safe Containers

Hard-shell waterproof container is great for camping, boating, poolside or at the beach. It holds money, credit cards and keys while you enjoy fun in the sun.

The stay dry bag is a clear vinyl waterproof bag that can hold phones as well as cameras, mp3 players, and more

Outdoor Speaker and Charger in One

Outdoor speakers are great for travel as they are rugged shock-proof and water-resistant. And like the speakers depicted above, have great sound to listen to the tunes with your buds. Moreover, these wireless speakers can even charge your other mobile devices on the go via its built-in USB port and 6000mAh Li-ion rechargeable battery that provides more than 12 hours of playback time.

Swiss Army Knife -
its a classic multi-tool. Everything you need and more within one device. Now it also comes with tech gadgets such as USB, flashlight, digital clock and thermometer. I think it is one of the most useful non-electronic gadgets and great to have everywhere. Swiss Army knife reinvented. Though make sure that when flying you pack it into your checked luggage.

Chances of getting struck by lightning are 1:700,000. Chances of getting skin cancer 1:5. Sunscreen should definitely be a must have travel accessory when traveling this summer.
