With the cars becoming smarter and smarter and avoiding bumps and preventing accidents, it is becoming more evident that leaving the driving to the computer would be beneficial to humans. As per Tesla, the builder of fully electronic cars with Autopilot, their cars are able to prevent 50% of accidents on the road. That is a huge number if looking at the yearly statistics for crashes that are due to human error.
We have significant way to go before the road are open to fully autonomous cars, though it might be better for people if it is sooner rather than later.
